The TINYHOME E60  can be built onsite in less than four weeks by two good carpenters for around  AUD $70,000, complete with all fixtures, finishes, electrical, and plumbing; creating an ideal holiday cabin, granny flat, or affordable home for a small family.  It features an open-plan living area, two bedrooms, and a large covered veranda.  The 'E' stands for economical and energy efficient, and '60' is the total footprint in square metres,  which fits within the maximum 60 square metre requirement for dual occupancy (granny flat) regulations on suitably-sized residential sites in most Australian states.  The meticulously detailed design utilizes readily-available off-the-shelf materials and conventional construction techniques, and is dimensioned to accommodate standard-sized wall sheets, floor sheets, and roof sheets in easily-handled sizes to minimise the amount of waste and labour.

When you purchase the 20-page set of detailed construction drawings (in PDF format to scale at A3), also included is a comprehensive materials order list and up-to-date cost estimate in an Excel file, which can be given to a  major building supplier such as Bunnings, making it essentially a kit home which can be delivered in one or two orders.  Construction quotes from local carpenters or builders are easily obtained because they only have to estimate their labour cost.  The construction drawings and specifications are prepared by an experienced builder/architect/certified building designer, so they can be submitted to your local council for approval with the addition of a specific site plan and, if required, an engineer's certificate for ground testing and footing modification.
