The MOBILE 35 tinyhome is a 35m² one-level cabin which can be built on a 2.5 x 9.6m registered trailer so it can be classified as a mobile home and circumvent planning restrictions in many situations. It includes a kitchen, dining bench, lounge area, and bathroom, creating a very affordable self-contained tinyhome or holiday cabin suitable for a couple or single occupant. It is designed to be built insitu, and since it is wider (just over 3.6m) than the standard maximum trailer width, it would require a pilot vehicle for transport on public roads in most states of Australia if it ever has to be moved offsite. And a separate covered veranda should be added to shade the north-facing glazing.
The total materials and components cost (including finishes, fixtures, and a galvanised steel trailer) will be around AUD$45,000 at current (July 2026) retail prices. It can be built onsite in around three weeks by a small team of skilled local carpenters. Site costs, plumbing, and electrical work would be necessary extra expenses.
